I hate the outrageous prices for fresh fish. I eat/drink calcium requirements, or close to it. Yuck to most of the comfort B foods. I could do better as a whole. How did you do in these areas?

Keep following the YES™ Plan, using the University of Illinois nutritional analysis tool to help pick sensible substitutes that add variety to your meals. editor’s note~~The tool again. Do you think they are trying to tell us something. Is this tool helpful for you?5. Activity: Update Your Personal Progress Chart.

On Christmas day I weighed 184.2
, don’t think I got accurate readings )
On New Years Eve I weigh…183.0 So I have lost 1.2 pounds….Not necessarily following there YES plan, but using some of their information…like trying to lower my calories a bit…but while I say I am, as of today, still not an active person, I don’t think I would function real well on to many less than the 1200 I try to reach….Some days, yes, I do….but maybe, those are the weeks I lose–hm-m-m–I will be watching that as I start the journaling again. 4. I am still looking for my tape measure–will have one by tomorrow, even it I have to buy a new one. I tried, but the steel ruler is a bit cold against the skin
3. My BP and Cholestral is within the healthy range [even with the new levels] but I do have the ‘obesity’ area….New Year, New Me will fix that!!
2. I had never seen the words…’Fix the diet and lower cancer risks’…but I kinda’ figured that was the only area I really had any control…and why you heard so much about the fish oils helping lower the risks.
1. Like you, I don’t like the fresh fish prices, and frozen fish is usually breaded, and still high in price. Luckily, we have a friend that Loves fishing and he will bring fresh pan fish over every once in awhile. Some of those fish on the list are way to expensive and I have never even tried. Tuna, comes in a can around here, and Salmon is a seasonal catch, can’t afford it otherwise, and it is imported when out of the fishing season in this area, Mackeral, is available on restraunt menues, but I haven’t ever ate any, and Trout is again, a seasonal catch. Now that dh is retired, I don’t get the fresh trout a co-worker use to bring in for dh to bring to me…so don’t get it very often any more… Calcium and B vitamins are in my daily vitamin take….I take a womans muti-vitamin and also 1000 mg of calcium [the soft chewy ones…they satisfy my chocolate chewing fix…]
I like the idea of measuring once a month…and will start with my new Jan 2 challenges…It is on the list…
Is your armour on? Are you ready to face the day? Lord, we are somewhat bound in our homes today, with the Snow Advisories, and windy conditions….Help me to not eat what I shouldn’t. Help me to eat when hungary, and only until feeling full…and to make good choices about what I do eat. I need to pick up car parts today, so please watch over me and put your angels along the highways. Help me get into the auto parts store and back home safely — and once home, don’t let me eat from relief that I am safe. Thank You.

Good on the weigh in. After a major spike on the scale yesterday, I refused my ritual. Tuna and salmon in a can is almost the best we can afford. We have a pond stocked with lovely fishes and I can’t bear to catch and eat them. LOL! It is a pizza treat day for me, so I am agreeing in prayer for you, Angelic! Like you, my health is fine, but I know I am leaning on grace. Happy and blessed New Year to you and once again, thanks for this time we have together.

1. I bought some fish oil capsules months ago, guess I should pull them out. I also need to find my multivitamins. I’m so bad about taking them! Since I’ve been tracking my intake I’ve realized just how bad I am at getting all my nutrients in. 2006 needs to be about getting healthy, too!
2. So much of our food is filled with chemicals! Even the meat we buy at the grocery store is shot with man-made hormones. Our veggies are covered with pesticides. It’s hard to get away from! I’m going to try to put in a garden this year…try is the key word! I definitely plan to focus on eating healthy this year. Less meat, more beans and veggies!
3. I’m having some blood work done mid-January. I do have high blood pressure. I’m not sure about my cholesterol. It’s been fine for years, but may be creeping up on me.
Lord, please watch over our sister Angelic today. Help her to feel when she is full. Put your angels out to protect her while she is out getting her car parts. Let her feel your love and protection surrounding her today. Bless her weight loss and her efforts in glorifying You.
I’m giving myself treats today. Tomorrow I am starting a time of prayer and fasting. I will include you all in my prayers. Hope your day goes great!
