Get out of your way!
Many time WE are the very thing standing in the way of our success! That’s right! WE are to blame for our lack of progress.

I say that it is time to move over and get out of your way so that you can get busy doing the actions that it takes to realize success on this journey. It can be done and I am here to show you how.

Many women with whom I speak talk about “I am not sure if I really want to lose weight, since I keep falling off my diet” or “since I can’t seem to make myself do the things that I need to do”.

Whining! yes, that’s right, I am calling it like it is,
whining and having a pity party. A reader told me on my job performance evaluation NOT to forget what it is like to be Obese; I haven’t forgotten! I KNOW that is easy to say “I can’t” it is easy to say “it isn’t working” or “maybe I am just meant to be this way”. I well remember.

I also remember that it actually wasn’t that hard to lose 130 pounds in 15 months ONCE I stopped making excuses for why I was FAT and started doing something about it!

I had to stop blaming my ex-husband and my
loneliness–those things may have hurt me, but they didn’t make me FAT, the 1/2 a gallon of ice-cream, the hamburgers, the pasta, the candy, the soda–THOSE are the things that made me FAT!

It’s time. Get out of your way and let’s get busy
figuring out what is making YOU fat and let’s take some steps to rid your life of it, and your body will soon rid itself of the fat!

editor’s note~~If we are honest, we can truly say we are the queen or king of excuses. It is just so easy to do. It is just such a habit in doing. It is more pleasant to escape accountability than to fez up. If we listened to how we sound we would have to admit to being ridiculous. We are so ready with advice and motivational quotes to others when they begin fudging the truth, but we excuse after excuse ourselves for a) How we got overweight, and b) Why we can’t lose weight.
On this blog I have previously mentioned some of the pitiful excuses I have used in blaming others or circumstances. Today that ends! A dear online friend writes devotions and today’s dealt with  We aren’t “victims” . . . we’re “victors”!
Let us remove our victim mentality by casting off the grave clothes of defeat we have been wearing. Let us not be like those in Luke 14:18 that all–with one consent–began making excuse. Let us truly believe, “New Year-New Me”. Let God have His way the very next time you care to make an excuse for gain or for lack of progress. Eze 3:26 “And I (God)will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth.”
