The Addiction Keeps Growing-Drink Water

The Addiction Keeps Growing
Report: Coca-Cola Still Growing.
It seems that the sugar addiction continues to be exposed to other parts of the world.  The Coke company sees growth from a good 2005.  And soon their addictive drinks will reach to coffee drinkers as Coke moves to add a coffee drink to it’s list of highly addictive, yet completely non-nutritious drinks. It should be noted that Coke does distribute water, so not all of their drinks are bad.  But if you look at the consumption of Coke [and other sweet drinks] per capita, according to a Tufts University study, most Americans are “consuming soda and sweet drinks” as the #1 source of calories.  That means if you added up all of the calories from soda (and other sweet drinks), the number exceeds the number of calories from any other source, in the typical American diet.

One study shows that the consumption per capita is over 56 gallons / year. For those of us who don’t drink soda/pop (of any kind), someone else has to make up for it by drinking more than 56 gallons per year. The issue is this: high-fructose corn syrup is very destructive to the human body.  Even diet sodas appear to be harmful as well.  Drinking diet soda doesn’t provide the opportunity to ‘Super-Size’ the fries.  Any drink that is not water (and filtered would be best with today’s pollution issues) - is not going to be as good for you.

Assume that most liquids have zero or close to zero nutritional benefits.  If you see that there are ingredients from sources like “green tea leaves” or “milk” (skim and soy preferrably), then you can be a bit more confident that you’re not doing yourself harm.

You want to be absolutely sure? Drink nothing but filtered water - you will never go wrong!  (Ok, you can add a glass of red wine once in awhile - the lycopenes in wine boost the immune system!)

Keep your system clean and flowing like the mountain stream - drink water.
